Why Indonesia?
During his earthly ministry, Jesus commissioned all of his followers to make disciples of all tribes and all language groups. Then he said that he promised to be with us as we go. It has been over 2,000 years and there are still 130 unreached people groups in Indonesia.
There are over 230 million people that do not believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior! That’s a larger population than all but five countries! Yet we know that every language group, tribe, and nation will one day be standing before the throne of God.
This is why Indopartners exists and is so persistent in reaching the people of Indonesia. We desire to see the plan of God unfold as mentioned in Revelation:
“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’“
Revelation 7:9-10
The harsh reality is that millions of people die every day without ever hearing about the love of Jesus Christ. Our role is to bring Jesus to these 130 people groups, and we can do that. It is time for us to do what the Lord commanded us to do. We encourage you to do your part by praying for Indonesia, and giving to the ministry reaching these people groups. Whether you give ongoing or once, your partnership is what allows us fulfill the Lord’s command.
What is the Current Spiritual Situation?
As you can see from above and from our homepage, Indonesia has about 275 million people, including 130 unreached people groups. Only about 10-12% of the population would classify as Christian. While it is acceptable to be a Christian and attend a church, there are not the same religious freedoms that we experience in the United States. If you leave your faith and become a Christian, you will face pressure from family, friends, and the community. It is becoming more difficult for westerners to obtain long-term visas and stay in the country to do God’s work.
An Incredible Opportunity!
However, there seems to be a current window of openness to the gospel, but no one knows how long it will last. The Holy Spirit is stirring in the hearts of unbelievers and believers. There are thousands of Indonesians turning to Christ. And God has raised up many national Christians to be involved in seeing the gospel shared throughout the country.
These are the reasons our focus is Indonesia. Would you like to be part of this work? You can participate by giving below! No donation is too small! We can share the gospel with 50 Indonesians for $1 and 2,000 people for $40.
